Wanna See Something Cool?

Is there a better feeling than coming in to work in the morning and having an engineer yell across the office, “Hey Kev, wanna see something cool?” Then he backs it up with something that is cool. I love that feeling, don’t you?

Look for this particular new coolness to show up in blist in a feature release coming on Tuesday.

It’s wednesday and nothing happened? Is the feature release postponed? I’m hoping it’s the “share” feature that’s going to be actived…

I don’t see anything new in blist from database technology perspective, other than being a cool front end to a database. May be I am missing something here…
could you please elaborate how it’s better than existing database products? Esp. how will it be better for enterprise class apps?

Congratulations on your launch! I think Blist has tremendous potential and truly is the easiest way to create functional, powerful databases that I have found so far. I do hope that you will enable the sharing application soon. As good as the db creation interface is, what will make or break this application (and where your competitors fail miserably) is end-user data search and presentation. How easy will it be for users to search the data I put up? How customizeable will the appearance of the results (and the searchbox) be? As good as an excel-like interface is for entering and creating data, it is certainly not the best for end-user searching. (a simple Google-like search/display interface would be ideal)
I hope that you will someday offer a variety of selectable front-ends by which end-users could search and display the data we have entered into our Blists.
You are off to a tremendous start here and I wish you great success. - Jake White / UW Libraries, Seattle
